Would you like to know more about our Social Department?

What do we do?

Are you worried about your financial struggles?

Do you need advice for financing your studies or for your flat search?

Or do you simply need an open ear?

The Social Department is where you can get help if you are facing financial difficulties, having troubles with your accommodation/landlord or anything else you are struggling with. We try to help you as much as we possibly can – through financial support in forms of loans or grants, help with Bafög, or tips for your job and flat search. We are also here to provide support for students with children, students with disabilities/chronic illnesses, and victims of violence, but you can also always come to us for general social advice. In case we are not able to help you ourselves, we redirect you to the right contact through our well-established social network.

Additionally, we can help you get legal assistance (but we are not able to provide legal advice ourselves as we are no trained lawyers).

Brochures and information about different relevant topics are available in our office for free. We also have a social box at our office, where we offer free condoms, tampons, pads, diapers, and pregnancy tests.

Kamp-Lintfort

Merlin von Mallinckrodt

Hello,

I am Merlin and I am studying in the 4th semester Industrial and Organizational Psychology in Kamp-Lintfort. I am 19 years old and from a small town near Oberhausen.

In my free time, I love going on long walks with my dog, doing sports, or just simply reading a good book.

I joined the social AStA department because I want to help students and provide as much assistance as possible. I like being in direct contact with you & I try my best to help you with your problems, so don‘t hesitate to contact me if you need help.

Kleve

Sedef Uzun

Hello and welcome! I am Sedef, 21 years old, and student of International Relations in my fifth semester.

This is my second year as the head of the Social Department in Kleve. Previously, I have also been engaged in the FSR Society and Economics, in the Senate, and in different university student groups such as UNICEF.

The Social Department is very important to me. I am in direct contact with so many fellow students of our university and it is a blessing for me to be the contact point for so many and regarding so many different social topics and issues. Always feel free to contact me!
