The UNICEF university group at HSRW is one of many all over Germany that are supporting the United Nations children´s relief organization. UNICEF is active in over 190 countries worldwide to improve and save the lives of children in need. Areas of work are children´s rights, health, security and education.

The group organizes different activities to raise awareness and collect donations for a variety of good causes. Part of that are events like movie nights, poetry slams and school visits. Also cooperation with other groups and university institutions, as well as participation in uni events are important. With the blue “Pfandbox” that was built and placed in the Audimax and Mensa, bottles are collected and exchanged for a deposit. Thereby, the environment is protected and global projects receive funding. Additionally, social media work is one of the main fields where the group is active. Through informative posts and interactive quizzes and challenges, many more people can be reached.

Besides all the planning, there is also time for group internal get togethers, for example around Christmas time and many other occasions.

If you are interested in meeting new people, sharing creative ideas and getting to know the work of one of the most famous development organizations, then this group is just right for you!
