Would you like to know more about our University Policy Department?
What do we do?
The Department for University Policy is the contact point for all students and will support you with counseling and advice on:
Defense before the Examination Board
Problems arising around your studies
Difficulties with your professors
If you do not know whom you have to contact at the university
While the FSRs focus on the student-teacher interaction at each faculty, the University Policy Department is your central place to go for counseling, if you have difficulties with examinations.
A further focus of the department is networking with other universities, including the participation in meetings of the regional organization of student representatives in North Rhine-Westphalia (LAT NRW). In these monthly meetings, the heads exchange knowledge and experiences with student bodies from different universities in order to establish best practices for the student self-administration.
IMPORTANT: As we are no lawyers, we cannot give you legal advice. Still, we can facilitate contact with legal counselors, if you want to pursue a legal appeal.
My name is Sarah, I am 21 years old and I study International Business Administration in KaLi. I was born in WIllich but now live in Duisburg, right between the Rhein and the Uettelsheimer Sea.
I newly joined AStA as head of the University Policy department in KaLi and together with Jan I am here to help you with issues around your studies such as failed examinations. I am happy I get to be in this position so I can be a part of making studies at the HSRW a wonderful experience for everybody.
Usually, I quite enjoy to meet new faces at the campus but until this is possible again, please feel free to call me on Skype during my office hours, if you need help!
My name is Jan, I am 22 years old and currently the head of the University Policy department in Kleve. Originally, I am from Heidelberg but moved to Kleve to study International Relations.
This is my second year working for AStA. Before this year’s term, I was head of the Political Education department. I am convinced that student self-administration and university politics are of high importance for all of us at HSRW. Together we can shape our everyday life at university!
If you see me at the campus, feel free to come up, have a chat or ask me anything regarding uni-politics or examination regulations. In “Corona-Times” you can also reach me or Sarah (my counterpart in Ka-Li) via Skype!
