So what is fake news and why is it important to understand how they work?

After all ballots for the US presidential elections 2016 have been counted Hillary Clinton had 2,864,974 more votes than Donald Trump. Still, Trump won the presidential elections. Hillary had won the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote.
